What is the Alternative Disco?
Swipe No Chip's Alternative Disco is my themed, eclectic dance party series. featuring DJ sets, live musical performances, and interactive activities designed to spark connection and belonging, hosted by Daniel Kelley AKA Swipe No Chip
There’s no single right way to spend your night. Groove in the dance hall, decorate yourself or make something at the Transformation Station, grab a refreshment, meet somebody new, hang with friends, follow a Sidequest, or step outside for some air. Whether it’s your first Disco or your fifth, expect a warm welcome and plenty of ways to participate.
Is Alternative Disco 21+?
Yes. Alternative Disco is strictly 21+, and all guests must present a valid government-issued ID at the door.
We accept driver licenses and other government IDs, passports, and Colorado Digital ID. Legitimate vertical IDs are welcome. We do not accept student IDs, other non-government IDs, or photographs of IDs.
How much does Alternative Disco cost?
Alternative Disco operates on a Pay What You Can (PWYC) model. Each event has a suggested registration price, but you’re welcome to pay the amount that feels appropriate for the experience and what you can afford.
We don’t want cost to be a barrier to participation. At the same time, these parties cost real money to produce. Your contribution pays our artists, crew, and production expenses—and helps us keep throwing more Discos.
Do I need to register in advance?
Advance registration is strongly encouraged. Registrations are subject to host approval and may become limited as we approach capacity.
Once approved, your registration guarantees admission until 10:30 PM. After 10:30 PM, admission is subject to venue capacity. If advance registrations fill, join the waitlist—we may release additional spots as they become available.
If your plans change, please release your registration so somebody else can dance in your place.
Doors typically open at 8 PM, with final new entry at midnight. Re-entry is generally permitted, although staff and security reserve the right to deny entry or re-entry when necessary for the safety of the event.
Why does Alternative Disco have a theme? Do I have to dress up?
Our guests aren't just the audience—they're part of the scenery.
Every Alternative Disco explores a different theme, and we strongly encourage you to dress the part. There is no single correct interpretation: take the theme somewhere strange, glamorous, understated, ridiculous, beautiful, personal, or completely your own. Showing up ready to participate helps transform a room full of strangers into the world we're creating together—and we think it makes the night considerably more fun.

Halloween is over. Take off the costume.
This Disco explores the darker, heavier, stranger parts of ourselves that don't always get invited to the party. Interpret that however it speaks to you. Come as your truest self—and dress accordingly.
Is Alternative Disco accessible?
We seek to accommodate all guests. If there is something we can do to help you participate comfortably, please contact us in advance through our website or at swipenochip@protonmail.com or swipenochip@gmail.com so we can prepare.
Our current venue is wheelchair accessible and has two all-gender, single-occupancy restrooms. The dance hall features loud music and flashing lights, while our lounge offers a more sensory-friendly environment with quieter music and softer, non-flashing lighting.
Service animals are welcome; please leave pets at home.
Free water stations are available throughout the event, and you're welcome to bring an empty water bottle to fill inside. Stay hydrated!
Is there a bar? Can I BYOB?
Alternative Disco is currently BYOB. Guests 21+ are welcome to bring their own beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
Please drink responsibly and remain respectful of the people and space around you. Security is present throughout the event, and staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who cannot participate safely and responsibly.
Smoking is not permitted indoors. Guests may smoke outside the front of the venue or in the alley adjacent to the dance hall.
What are the house rules?
Come curious, open-minded, and ready to connect. Move your body however you feel—there is no wrong way to dance or enjoy your night. Judgment and score-keeping aren't welcome here. Don't come to act like you're cooler than everybody else. Come ready to express yourself alongside everybody else.
Respect other people's bodies, boundaries, belongings, privacy, and consent. Violence, aggression, harassment, bullying, hate speech, theft, and other behavior that threatens the safety or belonging of our guests will not be tolerated.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who violates event or venue policies. More than simply avoiding bad behavior, we ask everyone to go a little further: practice kindness, warmth, consideration, and respect for the people sharing the room with you.
What can I bring inside?
Weapons are not permitted. Period.
Costume and toy props are generally welcome within reason, but admission of any item is at the discretion of event staff and security. If a prop isn't permitted inside, we'll hold it at Lost & Found for you to retrieve at the end of the night.
Small personal self-defense items such as pepper spray must remain stored inside a purse or handbag while at the event.
Large backpacks are not permitted.
Can I take photos and video?
Please do! These are experiences worth preserving. Personal photography and video are encouraged, and it helps us enormously when you share your night and tag us.
Just remember that not everybody wants to be photographed or recorded. Respect other guests' preferences, privacy, and boundaries.
Professional cameras—including DSLRs, film cameras, and video cameras—may be permitted at the discretion of event staff and security.

Where should I park, and how should I get there?
Street parking is plentiful throughout the surrounding neighborhood. Do not park in the venue parking lot—you may be towed.
Rideshare, carpooling, and public transportation are encouraged, and pickup/drop-off is easy directly in front of the venue.
If you're making a night of it, the venue is also within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, approximately 15 minutes on foot from the South Platte Street area, with additional restaurants along Broadway nearby.
